Doc update…

Ruby visited Dr. Kim last Thursday (I guess that would be a week ago today…geez) for her 4 month check up. We are weighing in at 15 lbs 13 oz and we’ve grown to a full 26 inches. This puts Ruby in the 95th percentile for both weight and length. I always forget her head measurement but it is in the 75th percentile. Dr. Kim continues to be very pleased with Ruby’s progress and says developmentally she is right where she needs to be!

On Friday (last week) we also made it through our second MRI. And as predicted Ruby was quite the trooper. Of course she didn’t like the anesthesia…the nurse said it smells like stinky feet, so can you blame her? But once she was out of the MRI it took her about 15 minutes and she was back to being the little Ruby we know. It’s good to have that behind us and it’s even better that we haven’t heard from the neurologist! They only call with bad news! So, we will be seeing Dr. Bettis (the neurologist) on the 21st to compare this MRI with the last one…we can’t wait to see what has been going on in that little brain. We are thankful for modern medical technology! We’ll keep you all posted on the results!

We’ve been busy with all that comes along with the Christmas season. We were able to celebrate Christmas a week early with Grandma Melva…pictures below…

Some new tricks

Ruby is starting to giggle a lot…

Ruby’s other new trick is rolling onto her side…she can almost roll all the way over. She’s got to figure out how to get past the arm that is in the way! Warning…this video is a little long!

Thanksgiving and then some...

My apologies that Kris hasn’t finished the last blog. We went to Moscow for the U of I vs BSU game. Rumor has it this is the last one to be played in Moscow. Apparently the Vandal fans are just too mean and hurt the BUS fans feelings. Whaaaaa. We had a great time and our BSU friends and family members were great! And we didn’t hurt their feelings….

Anyway, since the big game we’ve been busy taking in the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Boise Capital, Thanksgiving dinner and watching little Miss Ruby grow.

Ruby is due for her 4 month check up in two weeks so we are excited to see how much she has grown. Her second MRI is scheduled for the 17th. This time they will have to sedate her, which has me very nervous, but she is a tough ol’ bird (that’s what we tell her) and she will do great. We can’t wait to see what the neurologist has to say after comparing this MRI to the first one…we’ll keep you posted. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Love,
Leah, Kris, Ruby, Judd & Elway

New Mexico or bust…

Last weekend we had the chance to visit the Provencio family in New Mexico. Ruby was able to spend some quality time with Papa Pro and meet all of her extended family. We were honored to be a part of Grandpa’s 90th birthday celebrations.

I wish I could write more but I am off to pack for our weekend in Moscow….gooooo IDAHO!!! But I would like to thank Bob, Aunt Marty, Uncle Ray, Grandpa and the whole clan for such a wonderful weekend. You guys spoil us!

Happy Halloween

I know…some of you may be wondering why I would bother dressing up a 3 month old but we had the opportunity and we took it! My sister-in-law, Tiffany, threw together a party last night and Ruby went as Curious George. Since you can’t have a Curious George without the Man in the Yellow Hat Kris humored both of us and played along! Thanks Tiff for the party…we look forward to next year!

Enjoy the pictures…

The following video is a little long (about 3 min)...but Grandma Linda has been curious about Ruby's growth and progress. Ruby will sit in her Bumbo and actually grab her toys now...which she was doing with these spoons up until I grabbed the camera, of course!
