The first 1st birthday...

Whew I am behind on posts! Papa Pro was here a couple weeks ago and we celebrated Ruby’s first 1st birthday! At this point we have plans to celebrate Ruby’s birthday 4 times this summer! Maybe by the fourth time she will actually put the cake in her mouth!

Memorial Weekend

Last weekend we had the opportunity to fly over and spend some time with Grandma Linda & Grandpa Bob in Alder, WA. We had a great time trekking around the family homestead and honoring the memory of family and friends at the Alder Cemetery. It was a great time to catch up and hang out…which we don’t get enough of! Thank you for a wonderful weekend…and thank you to Granny and Gramp for the use of their wonderful trailer!

I’ve included picture from our trip and from John and Grandpa Ford’s birthday. We enjoyed a special celebration for Uncle John’s Big 3-0!

A quick update on Ruby. A little over a week ago she weighed in at about 24lbs and is 29 inches long. Her newest trick is that she has finally caught on to drinking out of her sippy cup! We are still not crawling…but that isn’t stopping her from getting around. She does plenty of rolling and scooting backwards to get to where she wants to go. Her doc commented on her abs…I’m guessing that’s from all the rolling around. Hmmm…maybe I should try that…

And we're back...

Sorry for the delay in posting. We’ve had some PC problems and it took us a bit longer to overcome them. I took these videos on Monday. Monday’s are my long days. I work in the office in the morning and at home in the afternoon. Since the day requires so much focus on my part and Ruby is still so easy (meaning non-mobile) I typically lay her on the floor in the office and she has the freedom to roll around and explore. Since I burry my head in my PC I always have at least one ear on her! It cracks me up how I will be working along and then all the sudden I realize Ruby is making a funny noise or no noise or whatever. You will see from these videos it’s a noise that caught my attention this time.

In the first video Ruby was right behind me. The second one is the perfect example of where her rolling and scooting often times gets her. Out in the middle of nowhere! I should mention Ruby is not crawling yet. She desperately wants to but she is very cautious…

Papa Pro…

Last week we had a surprise visit from Papa Pro! Ruby enjoyed her time with Papa even though she was fighting a little bug. So far this kid amazes me…even when she doesn’t feel well she just powers through and does her best to be happy no matter what. We enjoyed our time with Papa and can’t wait to see him again in June!

The pictures include our birthday dinner with Kelly and crew. Ruby was a hit at the restaurant so much so that our waitress took care of Ruby while we ate! The lounge singer (yes we found the one restaurant in Boise that actually has a lounge singer) was having so much fun with her he sang her a few songs.
